MESSAGE FROM DR. MARLIN SCHUL
Dear Valued Patient,
I would like to take this moment to share an important announcement and one that comes with a heavy heart. I truly appreciate the trust you have placed in our ability to help you with your venous or lymphatic concerns. This has been an ideal community to raise our three daughters given the values, school opportunities, and cultural exposures that have allowed them to truly grow and thrive. That being said, I am sharing that I’ll be passing our practice of 18 years to Dr. Jeff Schoonover, the Chief Medical Director and founder of Indiana Vein Specialists (IVS).
Dr. Schoonover is a Michigan State University graduate, and chief resident of his Family Practice training. Dr. Schoonover served in the Air Force from 2001 thru 2005, and transitioned his practice from Family Medicine to serving those suffering from Venous and Lymphatic disorders in 2007. I have known Dr. Schoonover for over one decade, and know him to be sincere, honest, with a focus on patient outcomes. His team is highly credentialed and shares the common goals of helping patients with the spectrum of lower limb disorders including leg ulcers, blood clots, lymphedema, lipedema, symptomatic varices, and cosmetic venous disorders. As consolidation occurs in medicine, I felt it to be incredibly important that we were paired with an organization of integrity and providers as dedicated, with a bedside manner that will assure patients will be in great hands with a team that cares.
The last twenty years of practicing medicine in Lafayette has been a blessing. We have become a trusted source of vein care in the community and have done our best to improve the lives of those we treat in a meaningful way. As this transition unfolds over the coming weeks, I pledge to be accessible to Dr. Schoonover’s team and committed to make this a smooth transition. The IVS team may be reached by calling (317) 348-3020 or by requesting an appointment online at www.indyveins.com. Although there are many ways to manage varicose veins, the collective focus will remain on optimizing outcomes and goals in delivering vein care. Dr. Schoonover will do the right thing, and his focus on safety and clinical outcomes parallel what our focus has been since starting the Lafayette Regional Vein & Laser Center so many years ago.
In closing, I wish to personally thank you for entrusting us with your care. Many of you have become more than patients, and friends we have enjoyed seeing and learning the updates in your life with each visit.
Sincerely,
Marlin W. Schul, MD
